looking out at the road rushing under my wheels, i don't know how to tell you all just how crazy this life feels

5:30am wake up call... what was supposed to be a 10 mile/45 min bike ride out...turned into an hour and half ordeal, complete with cotton mouth, sweat-soaked t-shirt, and knees that felt like J-E-L-L-O. Piece of advice for the future: Even though you are really super psyched about buying your new road bike for your triathlon, DO NOT choose the massive hills of the Pacific Palisades for your first ride.

My inability to plan much further then the present jumped back up to bite me in the arse this morning - literally. My behind, it hurts like a mother.... flash back to this morning when I found myself climbing up what seemed like a 90 degree hill, huffing and puffing, wanting to call in the troops for reinforcements. This close to calling it quits, literally thought I was going to DIE. And after miles of huffing, puffing & climbing unending hills, man, let me tell you how crazy good it felt turning that last bend, coasting downhill towards home, flying against the wind, a big smile on my face...

Today's Jam: "Running on Empty" by Jackson Brown (Running on Empty, 1978)
Tri this Emotion: Committed, and feeling good about it
The Be-All End-All Attitude: Somewhere & somehow the mentality about this has changed from "could try" to "will do" ... As Jackson Brown would say I don't know when the road turned onto the road I'm on, but all i know from here on out is that I'm running on...
