I JUST RAN 25 MINUTES STRAIGHT- THAT'S 2 MILES WITHOUT STOPPING...
Which either means that this tri training thing is really working, or I just had an extended out of body experience... Either way, this is ama-za-zing. Let me put this is perspective for you - a little under 2 months ago I didn't run at all, I mean NEVER. Youprobably would have had to sic rapid dogs, Jaws, and the all the nightmare bad guys of Scream, Halloween, and Nightmare on Elm Street on me in order to even get me moving. I mean 45 seconds of running had me wishing I were dead... And a little over one month ago at my first official TNT practice (which of course in the land of cosmic irony was a running practice) I could bairly go 2 minutes with heaving uncontrollably- so much so that I was near-tears by the end of 15 minutes and thought about quitting because the running part of his tri was not going to be an option.
"I'm through accepting limits 'cause someone says they're so- Some things I cannot change, but till I try, I'll never know." -- Thanks Wicked for not only pumping through my iPod at the pivotal moment during today's run, but for reminding me that anything is possible.
So after 25 minutes of running, 2 massive blisters on the insides of my feet, 1 extra large glass of protein-packed-water, 8 yoga positions to stretch my aching muscles, several person pats on the back, a few phone calls to friends that started with the introductory line of "let's play a fun game called- 'Guess how awesome I am?' ", and one very exuberant & body shaking rendition of Tina Turner's Proud Mary in the shower (big wheels keep on turning, PROUD MARY keep on burnin') I CAN NOT and WILL NOT stop smiling.
